We’ve been part of the Kenmore community since 1971 and take seriously our responsibility to make a positive impact on clients, patients, and the community as a whole.
Under the leadership of our Medical Director, Dr. Julia Mulvaney, and our Hospital Administrator, Katie Bergman, our team takes a people-centric approach to providing top-notch veterinary care. That means we partner closely with our clients to develop treatment plans that fit their circumstances, and we always strive to keep costs low while keeping the standard of care high.
Outside the clinic, we connect with other local businesses and engage with the community to get to know our neighbors. In fact, you may have seen us at the farmer’s market, Winterfest, and other Kenmore events. And because fostering a diverse and inclusive environment is at the heart of everything we do, our hospital is part of the Seattle Police Department’s “Safe Place Program,” making it a safe haven for victims of bias or hate crimes.
Our Approach to Medicine
Our medical philosophy is rooted in trust and transparency. There is no “one size fits all” in veterinary care. Our staff takes the time to get to know each pet parent and their pet’s individual needs. Whenever possible, we provide services in the exam room so you can be there to ask questions and share input—after all, no one knows your pet better than you.
We also believe your pet’s emotional health is just as important as their physical health. That’s why our veterinarians are fear-free certified, and we’ve set up our clinic to minimize stress from the moment your pet walks through the door. Loud waiting rooms surrounded by other nervous pets? Not at Kenmore. When you arrive, you and your pet go straight into an exam room, where you can wait together until the care team is ready.
When your pet is calm and relaxed, performing a thorough medical exam is easier. But we know not every pet enjoys a trip to the vet. For this reason, we can provide gentle, pre-visit sedative medications to help your pet feel at ease during stressful exams or treatments. We also offer cooperative care, a method used to teach dogs about veterinary exams by breaking the process down into small steps that reduce fear or anxiety. And our doors are always open for “happy visits”—opportunities for your pet to pop in for a treat and get comfortable with the surroundings.
