Our Team

DR. JULIA MULVANEY

Medical Director

Dr. Julia Mulvaney joined Kenmore Veterinary Hospital in September of 2022 as Medical Director.

Dr. Mulvaney received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Portland, and her DVM degree from Oregon State University in 2012.  She has been practicing in the Seattle area since graduation.

Her medical interests include internal medicine, management of senior pets, behavior, dentistry, and pain management.  She loves getting to know pets and their families and helping them stay happy and healthy!

Dr. Mulvaney attended Colorado State University to become certified in acupuncture and enjoys being able to use this drug-free modality to manage diseases such as cranial cruciate rupture, hip dysplasia, and intervertebral disc disease.

Another passion for Dr. Mulvaney is Fear Free handling techniques, with a goal to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress at Kenmore Veterinary Hospital as much as possible.

When not at work, Dr. Mulvaney can be found spending time with her husband and two daughters, running with her terrier mix Boomer, snuggling with her two senior kitties Coco and TK, or in the kitchen baking.

Millie Dowden

Veterinary Assistant

Millie joined the Kenmore Veterinary Hospital team in January 2024. An interest in Veterinary Medicine runs in Millie’s family, as Millie’s mom is a Veterinary Technician, so it seemed natural to Millie to follow in her footsteps. In her Veterinary Assistant role, Millie has a special interest in learning all she can about radiology.

Outside of the clinic, Millie has two very handsome kitties named Towel and Mop. Millie has taught Towel to walk on a leash and takes him for outings as often as she can. Towel’s favorite place to go to is the beach!

Jashen Blows

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Jayshen was born in Flagstaff, Arizona and moved up to Washington to go to college. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University in 2019, and his Veterinary Technician Degree from Bellingham Technical College in 2021. He went immediately into Veterinary Emergency/Critical Care where he worked for 3 years before joining Kenmore Veterinary Hospital in August of 2024. He has a passion for Fear Free handling, bloodwork, and Transfusions.

Outside of work he is kept busy by his 4 very food motivated cats: Smokey, Ash, Shadow, and Charcoal. When they do let him relax, he likes to play video games and listen to music with the cats puddled on top of him.
